Coping with Redundancy of Sensor Systems
What happens if a sensor becomes redundant for any period of time during a marine survey? Dave Field, iXblue Operations Director explains how we maintain data integrity.
When undertaking high order surveys, reliable and comprehensive data is paramount for producing accurate deliverables. It is normal for sensors to occasionally experience redundancy for a variety of reasons. To ensure that the survey data is complete, iXblue records all raw data from every sensor, so that if one system happens to be out for any reason, we can pull the data from another system and apply during post-processing.
