Choosing the Right Vessel for Hydrographic Surveys
Choosing the right vessel for a survey is paramount. David Donohue, Managing Director of iXblue explains how they specify and choose a vessel. It’s a fine balance between selecting a vessel which is large enough to do the job adequately, has the space for all the survey systems and equipment, yet is efficient to run and meets cost budgets.
Operations Director Dave Field shows us through the special Survey Shack that they have had built to fit onto the back of leased vessels to provide a watertight office and working environment for the survey crew and delicate equipment.
